What changes in a record when a peptide is cyclic
A linear peptide record and a cyclic peptide record differ in connectivity. Listing the same residue symbols does not eliminate that distinction.
For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
When a ring closure is specified, preserve its location and chemical description alongside the sequence. If a source gives only a two-dimensional drawing, retain that source and avoid reconstructing undocumented details in a text field.
Reading checklist
- Record the closure description
- Preserve the source structure
- Do not rely on residue count alone
