LC-MS identity evidence
LC-MS combines chromatographic separation with mass-spectral information. An identity statement should be read in terms of the observed signals, assigned chemical entity and matching criteria reported by the laboratory.
For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Purity and identity remain separate results even when the same analytical system contributes to both. A certificate that says identity confirmed does not necessarily publish a complete spectrum, sequence assignment or quantitative content measurement.
What to retain in a research record
- Identity result as written
- Method and supporting spectrum
- Features not established by the report
