What isotope spacing contributes to a spectrum
Spacing among isotope-related signals contributes to interpreting a mass spectrum. It should be considered alongside charge assignment and the stated composition rather than used as a standalone identification rule.

A reference diagram may show an expected pattern, while a certificate may report an observed one. Label the two clearly. If only an identity conclusion is supplied, do not create a synthetic spectrum and present it as measured data.
