Keeping a certificate revision history
A revised certificate can correct or supplement an earlier document. Keeping both files without a revision relationship can make one observation look like two independent results.
For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.
Record the version or issue date and explain which document supersedes which when the source establishes that relationship. Preserve the earlier record for audit purposes where appropriate, but keep its status clear in calculations.
Reading checklist
- Record revision relationships
- Identify the current source document
- Explain treatment of superseded values
Reference: Certificate report identifiers.
