Choosing between average and monoisotopic mass labels

Average and monoisotopic mass use different conventions. Comparing the numbers without their labels can make a consistent record appear contradictory.

For research use only. Not for human or veterinary use.

Before correcting a mass field, check the chemical form, isotope convention and whether the value describes a neutral entity or an ion. Retain the source precision and quantity name. A normalized database should document its chosen convention.
